RECOVERY OF REJECT AND CUT OF SPECIAL PIECES
INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY FOR RECYCLING PRODUCTION WASTE
In recent years we have witnessed more and more often the emergence and increase of problems to do with so-called "production waste", which represents a rising cost as well as a significant space problem for companies in the stone industry.
Ferrari&Cigarini has tackled this problem by finding solutions which help to transform costs into earnings: this is possible using a line for cutting material and recycling it into insets, small squares, marble-chip floor tiles, special pieces, mosaic, strip tiles and skirting boards.
The production process takes place via a complete manufacturing cycle which starts with the product to be recycled, which thus has irregular dimensions. It can be directly picked up directly from the pallet by means of automatic grippers with suction surface from the RP001 series or by means of automatic loaders from the ALM007/10/11 series which allow the marble-chip floor tiles to be positioned on the belt of the first multi-disc cutting machine from the MTX 700/1 series.
This machine trims the two sides of the marble-chip tile to size or produce strip tiles. To trim the other two sides automatically or to obtain insets from the strip tiles you must use a further cutting machine which can be connected to the previous one by means of automatic transfers from the DAL/DAS series. These transfers enable you to work with irregular or broken pieces thanks to a special tray system which enables you to produce continuously with excellent cutting quality and good production capacity (approximately 400 m2 per shift).
The MTX700/1 cutting machine guarantees excellent cutting quality thanks to the double statically-indeterminate support on the motor head, as well as extremely high production capacity provided by the strength of the structure and the possibility to install motors up to 22/30 kw.
A further characteristic of this machine is the high speed of size changes that is achieved using a system of tool-support sleeves that can be adjusted to the required size.
This process enables you to obtain various sizes of insets ( 5x5, 7x7, 10x10 cm), mosaics (up to a minimum of 1x1 cm) with special equipment, or strip tiles for the production of baseboards/skirting boards.
In order to obtain this product Ferrari&Cigarini has designed the MLZ40/400, capable of producing and polishing skirting boards with a minimum size of 4 cm and thickness up to 3cm. The basic version is equipped with 7 heads (6 electro-pneumatic and 1 fixed) which enable both 45° bevelling and a straight polished edge to be produced at a high capacity.
